Committe of Human Rights Reporters – Following the stay of execution for Habibollah Latifi his lawyer’s request for further investigation will soon commence. Since yesterday all members of Habibollah Latifi’s family and a number of civil rights activists were arrested by security forces in the city of Sanandaj. There is no word on their condition.
So far at least 12 arrests have been confirmed by the “Campaign to save Habibollah Latifi’s Life”
The names are as follows:
1. Simin Chaichi, author and poet
2. Hamid Malek-ol-Kalami, environmental activist
3. Saied Saedi, journalist
4. Hamid Saedi, Civi rights activist
5. Afshin Sheikh-Ol-Eslami Vatani, member of environmental organization
6. Hashem Rostami, labor activist
7. Zahed Moradian, labor activist
8. Vahed Majidi
9. Yahya Ghavami
10. Zhian Zafari, former political prisoner
11. Mahmoud Mahmoudi, journalist
12. Pedram Nassrollahik labor activist and former political prisoner
It is worth noting that Mokhtar Zarei, a journalist and civil rights activist was also arrested by security forces. He was freed a few hours later.
Also Abbas Latifi, the father of Habib Latifi, three of his sisters, three of his brothers, three of his sisters and his sister-in-law are also arrested.
According to reports Habibollah Latifi was in good physical and mental condition at Sanandaj prison today.

To Whom It May Concern,
Kurdish student Habibollah Latifi who is on death row in Sanandaj prison, Iran was granted a stay of execution on December 26th by authorities after extensive and widespread local and international protests. The Iranian regime has yet to fully cancel the execution order and instead has prolonged the process for another two months. Habibollah Latifi is completely innocent and does not deserve to be in prison for one day let alone suffer from the pain of knowing he can be executed for a crime of “waging war against God”, a propagandized charge that holds no basis. In retaliation to the public outcry and international pressure, the Iranian regime arrested eight members of Habibollah Latifi’s family: Habib’s father, three sisters, three brothers, and sister-in-law. They remain detained. The Iranian regime also arrested over 12 Sanandaj residents including journalists. Everyone who was arrested had protested the execution of Habibollah Latifi. We urge you to not stay silent so justice can be served to the innocent citizens of Sanandaj who have been wrongfully arrested and abused.

اسامی تعدادی از بازداشت شدگان سنندج تا این لحظه
کمیته گزارشگران حقوق بشر- به دنبال عدم اجرای حکم اعدام حبیب الله لطیفی، درخواست وکلای این دانشجوی دربند مبنی بر بررسی های بیشتر به زودی به صورت رسمی دنبال خواهد شد.
با این حال از روز گذشته علاوە بر اعضای خانواده حبیب الله لطیفی، شماری از فعالان مدنی در شهر سنندج از سوی نیروهای امنیتی بازداشت شدەاند که تاکنون از وضعیت آنها اطلاعی به دست نیامده است.
تا این لحظه دستگیری دست کم ۱۲ نفر از این فعالان مورد تائید کمپین سراسری نجات حبیب الله لطیفی است که اسامی آنها به شرح زیر است: ۱.سیمین چایچی شاعر و نویسنده، ۲. حميد ملك الكلامي فعال محيط زيست، ۳. سعید ساعدی روزنامەنگار، ۴. حمید ساعدی فعال مدنی، ۵. افشین شیخ الاسلامی وطنی از اعضای انجمن های محیط زیست سنندج، ۶. هاشم رستمي فعال كارگری، ۷. زاهد مراديان فعال کارگری، ۸. واحد مجيدی، ۹. یحیی قوامی، .۱۰ ژیان ظفری از زندانی سیاسی سابق، ۱۱. محمود محمودی روزنامەنگار، ۱۲. پدرام نصراللهی فعال كارگري و زنداني سياسي سابق. لازم به یادآوری ست روز گذشته مختار زارعی روزنامەنگار و فعال مدنی اهل سنندج نیز از سوی این نیروها بازداشت شده بود که پس از ساعاتی آزاد گردید.
علاوه بر این عباس لطيفي پدر حبيب لطيفي، سه تن از برادران حبيب، سه تن از خواهران وی و عروس این خانواده نیز همچنان در بازداشت به سر می برند.
بر اساس گزارش های رسیده به کمپین در عصر امروز، حبیب الله لطیفی دانشجوی کرد محکوم به اعدام هم اینک در وضعیت مناسب جسمی و روحی در زندان مرکزی سنندج به سر می برد.
